New works on Slate, Tile and Steel

Shown on the right are 3 of Kurt's Slate pieces and one Marble and Steel composite.

SLATE: An intricate blend of laminated art, rock, acrylic and wood, each piece sits out 3/4 of an inch away from the wall creating a stunning 3D effect. The tiles are from an antique roof and many have random splashes of paint left over from an orange rooftop sign. All blank tiles Kurt paints himself to match the style of the art. All slate pieces are hand made by Kurt and unique as no two tiles are alike. These have been quite popular at his most recent showings, often selling within the first hour of an Artist Reception.

MARBLE and STEEL: "Harmony" is a five layer composite with plexiglas, a photo transparency, ground steel, glass and green marble. (10 x 7 inches, 2 inches deep, $450) The dimensional interplay with light due to the ground steel/transparency combination makes this piece appear animated.This is actually a miniature mock-up of Kurts current project, a 42 x 52 inch self standing version. The target date for completing the large version is Jan 2010.
